# Remove Controls

To remove existing control developers can simply unregister existing control by passing the control name.

## Hooks

To do that we need to hook to the `elementor/controls/register` action which holds the controls manager, and pass the control name to the `unregister()` method.

## Unregistering Controls

To unregister existing controls use the following code:

```php
function unregister_controls( $controls_manager ) {

	$controls_manager->unregister( 'control-1' );
	$controls_manager->unregister( 'control-2' );

}
add_action( 'elementor/controls/register', 'unregister_controls' );
```
