Elementor has a hook that filters frontend content. It is applied to the final HTML content, i.e., all the content Elementor displays on the page/post. Developers can change the HTML output before Elementor displays it to the end-user.

## Hook Details

* **Hook Type:** Action Hook
* **Hook Name:** `elementor/frontend/the_content`
* **Affects:** Frontend

## Hook Arguments

| Argument  | Type       | Description                                                |

## Check Whether or Not to Display the Content

Membership addons can use this filter hook to check whether or not the user can see the page content:

```php
/**
 * Check whether the content is restricted by a membership
 * plugin. If it does, show a restriction text.
 *
 * Otherwise, display the page content.
 *
 * @since 1.0.0
 * @param string $content The content.
 */
function restrict_content_check( $content ) {
	if ( ! membership_plugin_is_content_allowed() ) {
		$content = esc_html__( 'Forbidden', 'textdomain' );
		return;
	}
	return $content;
}
add_action( 'elementor/frontend/the_content', 'restrict_content_check' );
```
